Communities FIRST provides 'fee for service' support to help members in the community communicate through conflict and develop creative solutions to problems.

Community mediation is a voluntary process that helps you discuss difficult issues and develop your own solutions.  Mediators listen to your concerns and can help you understand your needs and explore your options.

Mediators are available at our site or we can come to yours depending on the situation. Workshops are also available for your for profit or non-profit organization.

Schools

Conflict in the school environment is a very real issue. Support is available for assisting with setting up peer mediation teams, conflict training for teachers and students as well as one-off conflict disputes between students, parents and school.

Between Neighbours

Support for community members that are having disputes such as noise, harassment, pets, trees, parking etc. This is where you live and you want to try to maintain good ongoing relationships, or at a minimum set expectations so that you can live in peace.

Sports

Due to the competitive nature of sports, arguements can easily escalate out of control. Mediation supports the mentality of "fair play" and allows all participants in a dispute to have a voice whether it is a a penalized player, irate parent or frustrated coach.

Landlord and Tenant disputes

Gives landlords and tenants the opportunity to speak openly and have questions answered. It is an alternative solution to paralegals and court. Issues mediated include damaged property, noise compliants and fiancial disputes.
